Events with Catherine for me is a service for people to utilise in their own event planning - no matter what stage they are at. Whether it be at the very beginning, halfway through, or just at the end when it’s all about to come together for the big ‘tada’ moment.

When I started this website and decision to showcase what I do and what I love with Events, we were mid-covid lock-down 2.0. Time was abundant and I wanted this project to be something that kept me thinking creatively and focused.

I found myself searching for the next thing, a new chapter, a fresh start. This lead me to my third W - Wallsend Diggers, where a position as their Conference and Events Coordinator was advertised.

A few years into my event catering role, I started to get itchy feet as they say, and wanted to see what else was out there. Surprisingly a role came up that lead me back to the beautiful Port Stephens area.

Working with the company and Lady J was an invaluable experience and one where I hit the ground running. It was a very physical role and required you to think on your feet as every day was literally a whole new experience.

Now, the thing to note here is that this version of ‘Cat’ was obsessed with celebrity gossip, fashion, music and her T-Mobile Danger Hip Top/Sidekick. She was a walking 2000’s billboard. I look back now and sometimes wish I could still be like her - loving life, dreaming big, going with the flow.

I enrolled for the following year to see if PR was really something I could sink my teeth into and hopefully also tie in my experience with Events and Hospitality as well.
