The Third W

Toward the end of my fifth year at Souths, the universe decided to throw me a curve ball and my personal life exploded into a million pieces. Suddenly, planning any event - happy, sad, or neutral was honestly a struggle and some days I found it hard to love what I did. Looking back now, I know that this has only made me stronger and helped to shape the person I have become today. I also know that even now I am still evolving and I embrace change and try to enjoy the present more and make each moment count.

I found myself searching for the next thing, a new chapter, a fresh start. This lead me to my third W - Wallsend Diggers, where a position as their Conference and Events Coordinator was advertised. Working alongside the catering department, we have been building and creating a new vision and direction for the functions held at the clubs over the past few years.

Covid for us and many other businesses provided an opportunity to reflect on where and what we want the events at Wallsend Diggers to be. One of the major changes we made was the creation and branding of “The Events Quarter”. Giving the function spaces an identity and a logo would allow customers and members to associate and recognise the club as more than ‘just their local’ but as an entertainment, dining, and event venue that provides a memorable experience each and every time they visit.
