How did I get here?

When I say, “How did I get here?”. I am not meaning in a literal location sense but more in a - “How did the concept of EWC come about and what does it mean for me?”

Over the years, I have had family, friends, and acquaintances ask me for advice or recommendations that could help them with their event planning. Some of them simply needed a nudge in the right direction to get started while others needed the whole kit and caboodle. Not going to lie - most of these past events were paid in love, booze, and good vibes because I was actually attending these events as a guest.

In the months, weeks, and days leading up to the person's ‘big event,’ I found myself wearing many hats other than a guest. I would be everything from a ‘helping hand, stand-in BFF, shopping partner, and shoulder-to-lean-on through to impromptu on-the-day coordinator’.

What I took away from these moments and experiences was that - I truly love events. It was not just my job, I genuinely enjoyed planning them! Better yet, I realised that those people who asked for my advice, help, or input - trusted me implicitly to help out with what was in many cases, the most important event/day of their lives.

From researching or contacting suppliers, to giving advice on what to order for stock or how to plan out the event timeline, I was someone’s go-to event encyclopedia. Not only that, I noted that this was also reflected in my work as well. Many of the customers and clients I had were repeat business and the feedback I received was positive and personal.

The customers kept returning not just because they had a great event experience (although, this is what I aim for) but because the stress of the event planning and execution subsided greatly for them because they knew I was looking after the event. Side note: If I didn’t have physical written customer feedback, I wouldn’t have believed it either but, I do and I really appreciate each and every one of these.

So I thought to myself, what if I created something that could showcase the best of both worlds? Share my love of event planning and coordinating + showcase my event work and achievements - and EWC was created.

Events with Catherine for me is a service for people to utilise in their own event planning - no matter what stage they are at. Whether it be at the very beginning, halfway through, or just at the end when it’s all about to come together for the big ‘tada’ moment.

I hope I can be there in some way to help people as they plan, visualise, create and build the perfect event for their special occasion.
